Friends for over 30 years, Lazy Grey owners Paul and Chris have both had interesting and varied professional lives.

Not only do they have over 15 years experience in different sectors of the food and drink industry, they have both also had successful careers within the NHS for more than 3 decades.

Starting as a barman at 20 years old and becoming the landlord of his first pub by 25, Chris has run over 10 different Young’s Brewery pubs over his lifetime.

Paul also started his career in hospitality as a young man, working in the food industry. After his NHS career, he returned as a self-employed caterer over 15 years ago.

In 2013, Chris went back into the pub trade, taking a break from his NHS role, as the landlord of a village pub in East Sussex.

This is where the pair joined forces, with Paul also embracing the countryside life and filling the role of the pub’s Head Chef.

After 3 years, the guys missed city living and relocated to South London, taking on a new pub project together.

This adventure lasted another 4 years, until Covid hit in 2020.

Once the pandemic calmed, they decided to combine their knowledge once again and built their mobile events business which is now known as Lazy Grey.

Between the two of them, they have extensive experience and knowledge of the pub trade, catering, managing staff, finances and hosting a really good party.

part of the local community

“The big dream has never been to have a pitch at Glastonbury - we prefer to be able to connect with people on a more intimate level.

Giving back and being part of the community in West London is one of Lazy Grey’s biggest values, which is why our charity contributions and involvement in local festivals is so important to us.

Some of the charities and non-profits Lazy Grey has supported includes Ealing Soup Kitchen, Hanwell Hootie Music Festival C.I.C and EASE (Empowering Action & Social Esteem) Ltd.

We have also worked closely with local sports teams such as Shepherds Bush Cricket Club and Wasps FC and provided services at a number of local beer festivals, family fun days and for Sky TV, filming the English Cricket Board’s “Taste of Cricket”.

why lazy grey??

“As a massive dog lover, rescuing several ex-racing Greyhounds, it made perfect sense for the business to be named after them.

Lazy Grey just came from my first dog, Rufus, when I first saw him spin upside-down for a kip - it would make me laugh every single time”
